A quanto pare, quando parliamo un'altra lingua, non solo cambiamo il tono di voce, la cadenza con cui parliamo, ma abbiamo anche un diverso approccio quando dobbiamo prendere delle decisioni morali.

Si prendono delle persone che hanno una madrelingua e che però parlano una lingua diversa, molto bene naturalmente, e poi si fanno dei quesiti morali tipo: sei sopra un ponte, vedi che il treno arriva a tutta velocità, tu puoi salvare dieci [erano 5] persone che sono dentro al treno, però devi buttare questa persona BUM! sopra i binari, quindi mi ammazzi una per salvarne cinque. E a quanto pare se il quesito viene posto nella lingua madre c'è più, come dire c'è più difficoltà a buttare sotto il treno una persona per salvarne cinque. E invece quando si fa il ragionamento in una lingua che si è acquisita da adulti, c'è più propensione verso una decisione più utilitaristica.

Ora io non so veramente come vengono fatti questi esperimenti perché secondo me entrano in campo tanti altri fattori, non solo il fatto che la lingua si sia imparata da adulti piuttosto che alla nascita, ma anche in che ambiente si imparata la lingua, da che ambiente si proviene eccetera.
È una cosa reale però, e me ne rendo conto anch'io, me ne sono sempre resa conto, che quando si è più o meno bilingui, anche se non dalla nascita, io sono più o meno bilingue ma non dalla nascita, però mi rendo conto che uso ad esempio l'inglese in alcune situazioni. Me l'aveva fatto notare mio figlio quando era bambino, dice mamma, quando ti arrabbi parli sempre in inglese. E in effetti è ancora così quando mi arrabbio con mio figlio, vabb non succede spesso, però quando sono un po' agitata, un po' arrabbiata, automaticamente BUM mi vengono fuori le frasi in inglese. E quando mi sforzo di parlare in italiano traduco le frasi che ho in mente in inglese, in italiano, naturalmente non funziona così, perché le frasi tradotte, soprattutto quando sono frasi che esprimono forti emozioni, come quando siamo molto contenti o molto arrabbiati, non vengono mai tradotte letteralmente.

Quindi fateci caso, anche perché chi mi ascolta sicuramente bilingue perché parla il sardo, l'italiano e altre lingue regionali, fateci caso al vostro processo decisionale parlando in una o nell'altra lingua.
