Fintanto che qualcuno guadagnerà dei soldi dal riciclo dei rifiuti, questo qualcuno avrà tutto l'interesse a creare rifiuti. La vera sostenibilità è eliminare i rifiuti a monte, eliminando gli sprechi. Ecco perché aziende come IKEA sono all'avanguardia e hanno le carte in regola per mettere in pratica una vera economia circolare. Sarebbe bello se più aziende seguissero l'esempio e noi consumatrici e consumatori dobbiamo chiederlo ad alta voce e boicottare chi crea sprechi (come ad esempio la plastica superflua con cui si impacchettano le merci nei supermercati).

Ikea è sempre stata una delle mie aziende preferite, già da prima che esistesse internet mi piaceva andare da Ikea e girare, tornavo a casa sempre con un sacco di cose che non mi servivano. Qualche mese fa Ikea, ne ho parlato perché ha lanciato una serie di podcast, ma non podcast dove racconta la storia dell'azienda, no il podcast dove racconta il catalogo, dei podcast fantastici, dove pagina per pagina racconta il suo catalogo. Io ne ho ascoltato un paio poi vabbè, ci sono ventimila cose che ascolto anche per lavoro per cui non riesco ad ascoltare tutto, anzi ora che me lo son ricordato ci torno ad ascoltarmi qualche pagina del catalogo Ikea. Adesso mi è di nuovo tornata davanti Ikea perché ho letto che ha lanciato un programma di riacquisto dei mobili Ikea, non dappertutto, per il momento è solo in alcune postazioni negli Stati Uniti, però la gente può descrivere i mobili Ikea che vuole rivendere, fa una descrizione e poi lo porta, gli fanno la valutazione e gli danno un buono per acquistare altri prodotti all'interno del negozio e questi mobili usati venduti dalla gente che li aveva precedentemente acquistati, vengono messi a disposizione di altre persone che vogliono acquistare immobili, ma magari vogliono pagare di meno e non gliene frega niente che il mobile sia già stato usato da qualcuno, e se il mobile poi non si può acquistare di seconda mano perché troppo rovinato, Ikea offre di smaltirlo in modo sostenibile, perché entro la fine di questo decennio Ikea vuole riuscire a raggiungere un'economia completamente circolare senza sprechi. Ecco se più aziende seguissero l'esempio di Ikea, se già si cominciasse a vendere dentifricio senza il cartone attorno o comunque eliminare tutti quei cartoni tutti quei 20mila pacchi, extra pacchi e cose di plastica che ci propinano ai supermercati, già questo sarebbe un grande passo in avanti contro gli sprechi. Soprattutto, non basta riciclare, bisogna ridurre perché fintanto che esisterà un'industria del riciclo nessuno avrà il motivo per avere meno spazzatura perché la spazzatura è il loro business.
