College Station school board members unanimously name interim superintendent Mike Martindale as the lone finalist on a permanent basis. Following a state mandated 21 day waiting period, board president Michael Schaefer says final action is anticipated at their next regular meeting in March.

Martindale, who was also the first principal at College Station High School and before that, principal at Rock Prairie elementary, says he looks forward to taking a district that's already really good and move it to the next level.

Martindale has been serving as deputy superintendent and chief financial officer.
