Nicknamed "Destinations 2045", the project list includes the interchange at Wellborn and George Bush, a grade separation at Fitch and Arrington, the beginning of extending FM 2818 to the east, extending FM 1179 to the east and west, improvements to Harvey Road from the freeway to FM 158, improvements to Leonard Road from 2818 to Highway 47, and a shared use path connecting the Bryan superpark to Texas Avenue and to 2818.
Rudge also brought up this week's first meeting of the new Brazos County regional mobility authority (RMA), which was described as a TxDOT district inside the Bryan region TxDOT district. Rudge said the RMA's primary project, a tunnel under University between Texas and Wellborn, will happen after other projects that includes improvements around the RELLIS campus and the future of public transportation.
