Exercise
Make a list of your current exercise items and the amount of time per day that you spend on it. People like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson have superior focus and goal achieving abilities because of their physical health. Dwayne starts his serious workout routine at 4:30 am.
Now make notes beside your list of how you can improve. If you wrote down that you ride your bike for 30 minutes a day, ask yourself how much did your heart rate increase? Did you sweat? Are your muscles tired…a good tired that will promote a healthy sleep?
If you're just easy riding, strive to change it. Pick a different route with some hills. Or change your speed.
If you go for a leisurely stroll in the morning, force yourself to go faster. Go slow, sprint, slow down and sprint again.
Set a timer and say you're going to walk a mile in 15 minutes. Or run it in 8 minutes.
Download an app on your phone that will count the number of steps you take during the day. Strive to walk at least 10,000 steps.
When you force yourself to overcome physical resistance while exercising, you'll be better able to overcome mental, emotional and spiritual resistance in your life.
Do a complete survey of your physical regime now.
What about rest?
Are you making a point of being in bed by a certain time, then waking up at a certain time? That's far better than simply working until you're exhausted, then waking up just a few hours later.
I recommend an app called "Sleep Cycle." It's $4 on the app store. It will wake you up during the part of your sleep cycle that you're the most alert, rather than jolting you out of deep REM sleep. Then it gives you a score, 1-100 of your sleep quality.
How are you eating?
Just whatever is on sale at Wendy's or McDonald's? How much green stuff are you eating? Try eating more plants than animals for just one week and see if you don't feel amazing!
Being aware of our physical health, and by tweaking just a few things in our exercise, sleep and eating routines, we can increase our ability to focus exponentially.
Don't be haphazard with how you eat, sleep and exercise for it will translate directly into how you do your work.
