2 Samuel 8: Fama, victorias, prosperidad y justicia

2 Samuel 8:9‭-‬15 RVA2015:
Cuando Toi, rey de Hamat, oyó que David había derrotado a todo el ejército de Hadad-ezer, Toi envió a su hijo Joram al rey David para saludarlo y felicitarlo por haber combatido contra Hadad-ezer y por haberlo derrotado, porque Toi estaba en guerra con Hadad-ezer. Joram llevó consigo objetos de plata, de oro y de bronce, que el rey David también consagró al SEÑOR, junto con la plata y el oro que había consagrado de todas las naciones que había conquistado: de Edom, de Moab, de los hijos de Amón, de los filisteos, de Amalec y del botín de Hadad-ezer hijo de Rejob, rey de Soba. David adquirió renombre cuando regresó de derrotar a dieciocho mil hombres de Edom en el valle de la Sal. Él instaló puestos militares en Edom; por toda Edom instaló puestos militares, y todos los edomitas llegaron a ser siervos de David. Y el SEÑOR daba la victoria a David por dondequiera que iba. David reinaba sobre todo Israel, y practicaba David el derecho y la justicia con todo su pueblo.

En este capítulo vemos a David realizando grandes hazañas como rey, peleando las batallas de Dios, defendiendo al pueblo de Dios de sus enemigos y obteniendo grandes victorias.
Esta nueva etapa de la historia de Israel, bajo el liderazgo de David, estaba llena de bendición, prosperidad y justicia.
Las naciones vecinas rindieron tributos a David, muchos reyes lo felicitaban por haber derrotado otras naciones malvadas, y David adquiría una gracia especial ante los ojos del pueblo porque él impartía justicia y verdad.

El secreto de David es que él sabía en quién había creído, en quien confiaba y conocía Su Palabra. La fidelidad de David estaba trayendo abundancia, fortaleza y sabiduría como recompensa. Su fama se extendía por todas partes, su reino se extendía, conquistando terrenos que le pertenecían a Israel, y la convivencia entre las tribus era de paz porque David gobernaba apegado a los mandamientos de Dios.
En Proverbios 16:7 encontramos el efecto extraordinario de aquel que vive conforme a la voluntad de Dios: “Cuando los caminos del hombre son agradables al Señor, aun a sus enemigos hace estar en paz con él.”

Espero que podamos seguir el ejemplo de David, en agradar en todo al Señor y prepararnos para hacer Su voluntad en nuestras vidas y la de nuestras familias, que seamos instrumentos de Dios para impactar a nuestra comunidad a los que nos rodean con la luz de la verdad, que muchos puedan ver la bendición de Dios sobre aquellos que buscan agradar al Señor. Incluso, los que nos quieren hacer daño desisten de sus planes y aceptan que Dios está con nosotros, como dijo el apóstol Pablo : “¿Qué, pues, diremos a esto? Si Dios es por nosotros, ¿quién contra nosotros? (Romanos 8:31).

Usa tu influencia, tu testimonio, y tu conocimiento de la Palabra de Dios para transformar otras vidas, otros hogares y que sean afirmados en Dios los que por mucho tiempo han perdido la fe. Que puedas tú y tu familia ser un canal de bendición y la conexión de la presencia de Dios para que otros puedan afirmar sus vidas espirituales y reconciliarse con el Señor.

2 Samuel 8:9-15:
When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had defeated all the army of Hadadezer, then Toi sent Joram his son to King David, to greet him and bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and defeated him (for Hadadezer had been at war with Toi); and Joram brought with him articles of silver, articles of gold, and articles of bronze. King David also dedicated these to the Lord, along with the silver and gold that he had dedicated from all the nations which he had subdued— from Syria, from Moab, from the people of Ammon, from the Philistines, from Amalek, and from the spoil of Hadadezer the son of Rehob, king of Zobah. And David made himself a name when he returned from killing eighteen thousand Syrians in the Valley of Salt. He also put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom he put garrisons, and all the Edomites became David’s servants. And the Lord preserved David wherever he went. So David reigned over all Israel; and David administered judgment and justice to all his people.

In this chapter we see David performing great feats as king, fighting God's battles, defending God's people from their enemies and winning great victories.
This new stage in the history of Israel, under the leadership of David, was full of blessing, prosperity and justice.
Neighboring nations paid tribute to David, many kings congratulated him for having defeated other wicked nations, and David acquired a special grace in the eyes of the people because he imparted justice and truth.

David's secret is that he knew who he believed in, who he trusted and knew His Word. David's faithfulness was bringing abundance, strength and wisdom as a reward. His fame spread everywhere, his kingdom spread, conquering lands that belonged to Israel, and coexistence between the tribes was peaceful because David ruled attached to God's commandments.
In Proverbs 16:7 we find the extraordinary effect of one who lives according to God's will: “When a man’s ways please the Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.”

I hope that we can follow David's example, in pleasing the Lord in everything and preparing ourselves to do His will in our lives and that of our families, that we be God's instruments to impact our community and those around us with the light of truth. That many can see the blessing of God on those who seek to please the Lord; even those who want to harm us give up their plans and accept that God is with us, as the apostle Paul said: “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31).

Use your influence, your testimony, and your knowledge of the Word of God to transform other lives, other homes, and for those who have lost faith for a long time to be affirmed in God. May you and your family be a channel of blessing and the connection of the presence of God so that others can affirm their spiritual lives and reconcile with the Lord.
