As of the end of the day Monday, nearly 2,300 hundred people have taken advantage of early voting in Brazos County.

That's ahead of next Tuesday's general election for contested city positions.

While most are interested in the races for Bryan mayor and Bryan and College Station city council, registered voters in Texas can participate in the proposed constitutional amendments.

Based on the more than 95,000 registered in Bryan and College Station, the turnout is just over two percent.

Elections administrator Trudy Hancock says voter feedback on new machines is positive.

Early voting in Brazos County continues through Friday at five locations between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
