The College Station city council overrides a staff recommendation on lowering the speed limit on a recently expanded stretch of Holleman South.
Councilman John Nichols received support to set the maximum speed at 45 instead of 40 as recommended by staff on Holleman between Dowling and Rock Prairie.
The council agreed to 40 as Holleman approaches the intersections of Dowling and Rock Prairie.
Before Holleman South was widened, the speed limit was 60.
