A number of capital projects in Bryan are at various stages of development and/or completion.

City manager Kean Register's report at September 10 council meeting included what's happening with the downtown railroad quiet zones and the first step towards extending the quiet zone to the Midtown area.

Joint projects with TxDOT included an update on adding medians along Texas Avenue from north of Highway 21 to University.

Register the state parks and wildlife department has authorized funding for a bridge in Camelot Park, which is located across Villa Maria from Blinn College.

A new waterline along Highway 47 is 90 percent complete, a new waterline along Linda Lane is in service, and 95 percent of this year's miscellaneous sewer line work is finished.

There was also an update on drainage projects affecting two Bryan streets.

Register also reported the city has completed its assistance to prepare Grandview Cemetery, where more than one thousand African-Americans are buried, for transfer to a new non profit group.
