On this week’s group chat, we consider the importance of helping kids find things they’re good at, imagine new fundraisers we’d like to see schools try, shout out some stuff we like on the Roundabout Roundup, and do some shameless self-promotion. Here’s your road map to the episode: 06:04 They Got Skillz — An experienced mom recently told Catherine that she felt it was important for kids to have a talent, skill, interest, hobby — whatever — that they know they are good at. We certainly do agree, and yet ... as with so many things about parenting, it’s easier said than done. 21:36 Friday Speed Round: Fantasy School Fundraisers — A typo in a texting conversation that turned “grocery store” into “grocery fair” got us thinking that maybe schools were branching out from book fairs into new culinary territory. While they’re at it, we have some more ideas they might want to try, from selling school supplies to auctioning off good grades.  27:48 Parenting Roundabout Roundup — Terri’s excited about the 6th Annual Great Bike Giveaway from Friendship Circle, which offers an easy way to help kids with special needs get adaptive bikes; Catherine digs her Yoga Studio app; and Nicole thinks you should go order some food through GrubHub right now.  31:18 Shameless Self-Promotion — Terri has put together a Twitter list of just cute animals and food for when you need a little social media respite; Nicole has an article to share about inclusion in high school, college, and beyond on her Inclusive Class site; and Catherine has a post on VeryWell about “Injury Recovery for Sports Kids.” Thanks as always to Jon Morin for our fun in-and-out music.
