Connecting people to God and Healing

The guest on this week’s episode is incredibly special to my heart and my journey and is hands down one of the top five most important and influential people in my life—his name is Tim Storey. Tim came into my world about two years ago, when I was struggling to come out of a season of silence, looking for a mentor and coach who understood where I came from and what I had been through.

In this episode we discuss the pivotal moments in Tim’s childhood that not only changed his life forever, but enabled him to understand the process of pain, grief, and how to help others in deeper places of hurt. Listen to this episode to see how one man’s story of pain and strength enabled him to guide so many people, including high profile celebrities, to God and healing.

Finding strength to overcome life’s interruptions

We open this episode with snapshots of Tim’s childhood, one that he describes as a carefree, happy-go-lucky upbringing—until a tragic life interruption brought everything crashing down. Tim shares the impact this had on his understanding of the world, his connection to God, and how it almost prepared him for the second awful event that would again send his family reeling.

Being called to a greater purpose

He describes going through the process of pain and grief, but knowing there were people out there that were more wounded, in more pain, and needed more help—and how he knew he would be the one to do so.

Transforming people’s lives

We dig into the layers of carnal vs. core recovery, and how to move past our own past in order to live in the present without punishing ourselves for our successes. Tim shares his journey from speaking in front of people to coaching big name entertainers, eventually even winding up on Oprah’s couch. He preaches wisdom, words of recovery, and helps people overcome their addictions to transform their setbacks into comebacks.
