In Oct 1835 US Colonists living in Texas and Tejanos (Texas Mexicans) joined forces to start a rebellion to free themselves from Mexico. This resulted in a declaration of independence in March of 1836 and the establishment of the Republic of Texas. The influence of Mexico on Texas culture can still be seen to this day in names of cities and locales, our food, our language and our music. Special guest Carlos Palacio joins Kyle and Kevin in this week's episode to discuss the special relationship between Mexico and the Lone Star State.
