Today in Minneapolis, we can expect showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 5 pm. Some of these storms could bring heavy rainfall, so you might want to carry that umbrella. It will be partly sunny with a high near 85 and a southeast wind of 10 to 15 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 25 miles per hour. The chance of precipitation is 60%, with new rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Tonight, the showers and thunderstorms will continue, mainly before 10 pm. Some of these storms could be severe with heavy rainfall. The low will be around 61, and the southwest wind will shift to west-northwest after midnight. The chance of precipitation is 90%, with new amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
As we look into Friday, it will start off partly sunny but will gradually become sunny with a high near 79. The wind direction will be west-northwest at 5 to 10 miles per hour.
For your weekend plans, Saturday looks sunny with a high near 82, while Saturday night will be clear with a low around 59.
Into Sunday, it will remain sunny with a high near 73. And for Labor Day on Monday, expect sunny skies again with a high near 74.
