Alright folks, let's dive into the weather report for Washington DC!

Today, we're looking at a high near 96 degrees with a chance of showers and thunderstorms creeping in, mainly after 5 pm. Keep an eye out for those pesky thunderboomers. The heat index could skyrocket to 108, so stay cool and hydrated out there. The wind will be coming in from the south at 6 to 13 miles per hour, with gusts up to 23 miles per hour.

Tonight, expect showers and thunderstorms likely before midnight with a low around 75. The wind will switch from south to west as the night progresses. Don't be surprised if we get a bit of rainfall, about a tenth to a quarter of an inch, with possibly more in those thunderstorms.

As we look ahead to Thursday, it's looking mostly sunny with a high near 92 and a gentle west wind meandering around 6 miles per hour.

And as we roll into the weekend, Friday brings likely showers with thunderstorms lurking after 11 am, high near 84. Keep that umbrella handy!
