Hey there folks, buckle up for your not-so-typical weather report! Here's what the space has in store for us over the next three days, as predicted by the cool cats at the U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA, Space Weather Prediction Center.
First up, let's talk about geomagnetic activity. The Kp index has been behaving pretty well, reaching just a mild 2 in the last 24 hours. For the upcoming days from June 20th to June 22nd, we're looking at numbers mostly below the NOAA Scale levels, with a peak of 4.00 expected. So, no need to worry about any G1 geomagnetic storms; everything seems a-okay on that front.
Moving on to solar radiation, things have been chill according to NOAA GOES-18, staying below storm level thresholds. The forecast for solar radiation storms from June 20th to June 22nd shows a slim 5% chance of hitting S1 or greater. Looks like we're in the clear for any major solar radiation storms too.
And last but not least, let's chat about radio blackouts. Good news - no radio blackouts to report in the last day. Looking ahead, we have a 60% chance of R1-R2 radio blackouts on June 20th to June 22nd, with a mere 15% chance of seeing any X-class flares. Keep an eye out for Regions 3712, 3713, and 3716 as they might throw some flares our way.
Well, there you have it, folks! The space weather story for the next three days. Don't forget, for more detailed info, you can check out the link in the show notes.
